My I-485 got approved on Aug 7th 2008 from NSC. As far as i know my name check was pending during approval time.
How do you know that your 485 was approved even if NC was pending? Does your GC - physical card or the approval notice/emails - indicate that your approval is contingent on NC?

Just when I gave up and stopped checking on-line status every day, I've got I-485 approvals in the mail :) Did not get any e-mails yet about all three cases I was tracking, even though I've got the plastic already.

Did you also mail them other supporting documents such as:
copy of current I-94
copy of I-485 receipt
DL/PP first two pages etc?
These are all mandatory supporting documents to be mailed.
I just got the RFE for the I-131 and they just asked for two pictures.
I applied online and the asked me not to send anything, so now they requested these pics.
I already sent them, so hopefully I'll get my travel document soon!

I have one question. I have 140 and 485 concurrently applied. If there's an rfe o 140 will they ask for paystubs ? I have some personal problems recently and I dont have paystubs for about two months.
Please advise.
Depends on what kind of company you work for and what kind of proferred wage your GC application has and what kind of money you been making on w2s since your labor process has started. Again it all depends on whether you receive an RFE or not but if you work for a company that is H1B dependent and has multiple 140 petitions pending and your application is filed with NSC , I think you should be prepared for an RFE on your companies ability to pay.

Well, iam in the same dilemma. I was out of country for 3 months since March and out of job since then.I recently took up a permanent position.I did not inform my employer about it.The new employer is willing to give the offer letter which is needed for invoking AC21. I do have a copy of the approved
I140.I don't have any contact with my employer except for using the COBRA option of health coverage.So at this point iam not even sure if my approved I140 has been withdrawn or not.
Is it a good idea at this point to invoke AC21 ?

Even some Attorney's and Law firm says you can start working once you FedEx document to USCIS or Receipt of FedEx at USCIS. Its always good to wait until you get Receipt number from USICS which is an official document.

I agree with raj. IV goals are clearly mentioned on the homepage and it appears its activities so far are consistent with its stated objectives. As a self funded group with limited resources, the fronts on which the battle can be fought have to be selected. Currently, the struggle is to get legal, high skilled immigrants on temporary working visas a more defined and timely path to their long term career and life goals. There will always be issues which the core group will hopefully consider and act on in the future.

I wanted to get some idea on why EB2 got stuck around Jan 03 when it flew past Apr 01 deadline.
EB2 was completely unaffected by 245(i) and had no reason to be stuck on Apr 01.
EB2 being stuck around Jan 03 etc... could actually be a good news for EB3. Why? It means that the number of people who abandoned their EB3 PDs to escape retrogression and filed for EB2 is very large!
The key thing to watch for India EB3 people is that PD should remain beyond May 1st, 2001. If it doesn' revert back to April, we can assume steady progress.
All in all, I don't see any reason why Jan 2003 will have any -ve affect on EB3... it could be +ve though.

Well if it is clearly mentioned in the offer letter that Employer will cover the GC cost, then isnt the employer supposed to pay for it irrespective of when the labor was filed. It was filed in 2006.
Btw, i am on AOS if that is what was meant from my legal status..

From my understanding you got your H1B approved(for 3 yrs) beyond 6 yrs even though 140 is once approved and later revoked. But I heard from my lawyers that once 140 is revoked/withdrawn its not possible for H1b extension beyond 6 yrs. Could you please let me know what details you attested for the RFE to convince USCIS? I am also in a kind of similar boat.

By law how many days one is required to stay with sponsor after GC approval in EB2? What documents we will need to prove to USCIS at Citizenship interview to prove that we stayed with sponsor for "required" time.

Employment based GC is for permanent employment with the sponsoring employer. I don't know if law gives a lesser period of time of association. But in practice, i have seen many people quoting '6 months' of minimum stay. Some attorneys quote 2 years stay.
